BW Travels - Carmel-by-the-Sea

Our travels across the globe always provide a source of design inspiration…the things we see, the places we go and the landscapes that envelope us are infused into everything we create.

We opened our first store in Carmel-by-the-Sea after a trip to this special enclave on the Northern, California coastline. Known best for the famed Pebble Beach Golf Course that sits along the jagged cliffs of the Pacific Ocean and the Concours dElegance, one of the worlds most renowned classic car shows, Carmel-by-the-Sea should be on everyones must-visitlist.

Whether you plan to attend a major event or simply to just spend a weekend, here are some of the places we highly recommend you experience and of course, the luxe Brochu Walker styles to wear to each location/venue.

The Cypress Inn

Nestled in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea, this historic boutique hotel not only exudes Mediterranean grace and charm but is also considered one the most famous dog-friendly hotels in the country. Co-owned by actors Doris Day and Dennis LeVett for more than 20 years, it appeals to our love of all things timeless.

Carmel Valley Coffee

While exploring the town, we found this quaint local coffee shop, opened 25 years ago, which draws constant inspiration from the beauty of Carmel…its sandy shores, verdant valleys, and majestic ocean cliffs. True artisans, they roast their coffee in small batches locally. Not only do we love the taste of their organic beans, but their commitment to their craft is something near and dear to our hearts.

What To Wear: Everyday Shirt, Cashmere Wrap, Marfa Boots

Folktale Winery & Vineyards
Opened in 2015, and one of our favorite lunch spots, this famed local winery is organically farmed to preserve the magical landscape it inhabits. Aligned with our on-going commitment to be Kinder to The Environment, Folktale is one of our forever kindred spirits.

What To Wear: Fia Belted Dress, Jenny Cardigan, Marfa Boots

Mission Ranch

While this is another historical hotel, if you don’t stay here, we highly recommend it for sunset cocktails. Nestled among indigenous cypress and eucalyptus trees, the view is spectacular…sheep grazing in the meadow below, the Santa Lucia Mountains in the near distance and the crashing waves at Point Lobos. Once one of the first dairies in California, the rich history of this 1800s ranch was preserved and restored by former Carmel Mayor and actor, Clint Eastwood.

What To Wear: Everyday Shirt, Cashmere Wrap

Pepe’s Vesuvio

Like the rest of Carmel-by-the-Sea, one of our favorite little Italian restaurants has a storied history. A modern-day testament to the culture and cuisine of Naples and Campania, Vesuvio features recipes from Chef Pepe’s cousins and great-aunts in Southern Italy. And…if you love a great cocktail as much as we do, they create specialty drinks using propriety Doc Pepe’s Lab Barrel-Aged Cocktails, their Shrub Doctor Mixers, house-made bitters, and local beer.

What To Wear: Alana Dress

If you just want to take a casual stroll through town, make sure to check out our store located at 1 NW Dolores St. and Ocean Ave…its the store with the little pink door. We welcome you.
